CHILDREN’S BOOKS YOU SHOULD READ

BOOKING IT WITH EMMA

January 3, 2023

Ever want to feel like a kid again? I know sometimes I wanna escape school and being an “adult,” so I read children’s books. Here are some of my favorites.

  • Mrs. Piggle Wiggle by Betty MacDonald is a series following Mrs. Piggle Wiggle who lives in an upside down house, was married to a pirate, and she knows everything about children.

  • Amelia Bedelia by Peggy Parish is a series about Amelia, who is a housekeeper. Though, you’d think this would be fine and couldn’t possibly be bad, but she takes her chores quite literally.

  • A Piglet Named Mercy by Kate DiCamillo is about Mr. and Mrs. Watson who take in this little pig named Mercy that changes their lives forever whether it be good or even at some points bad.

These books are the ones I loved as a little kid. I reread them whenever I need a break from reality, and it helps a lot.

Books put you into a different world that sometimes we really need. We all need it at one point in our life. Reading is an escape and sometimes the books we read that are “our age” are the ones we need a break from.

Let me know if you’ve heard and/or remember any of these books.
