Feasters, it’s finally happened: the G.O.A.T of ice cream has awoken from its slumber. As of April 18, Punk’s Ice Cream is finally open after a year on hiatus!
Punk’s Ice Cream is the best ice cream shop in all of Beaver County, in my opinion. While primarily serving hard ice cream, Punk’s has a special tradition of serving two surprise soft serve ice cream flavors each week. Some of their most popular flavors are black raspberry, pistachio, blueberry, and peach. My favorite order is a black raspberry and pistachio twist with sprinkles.
Punk’s has a giant menu, as well. Whether you like milkshakes, parfaits, sundaes, or even mix-ins, they have something for everyone. If black raspberry and pistachio aren’t options, I love their cookie dough twist, which is similar to a blizzard from Dairy Queen. It includes their creamy, soft-serve vanilla ice cream with mountains of cookie dough mixed in. They have plenty of other twists you can order, as well. German chocolate is another favorite of mine!
Their parfaits are also popular. They have classic options, such as dirt and strawberry shortcake, but they also unique options, like carmello, banana fudge, and almond. Honestly, you can never go wrong with a good dirt parfait. Chewy gummy worms with rich chocolate ice cream? How can you go wrong?
Under specialties, Punk’s lists that they serve pecan balls and frozen bananas. I’ve never tried these, but my grandma says their pecan balls are delicious. I’d like to try a frozen banana sometime, too. That’s one of the wonders of Punk’s: they sell the most random stuff that’s always worth purchasing.
Not only does Punk’s serve fabulous ice cream, they also have the cutest play structure for children. Behind the building is a giant, wooden train with benches inside its caboose. This was one of my favorite spots as a child. I fondly remember climbing through its tunnels, ice cream dripping down my hand, playing conductor with my friends. If Punk’s is good for anything other than ice cream, it’s great for making memories.
If you love quality ice cream with a family-friendly atmosphere, I highly recommend going to Punk’s ASAP. They’ll always receive a 10/10 from me!
