In the library on Tuesday, a student named Jonathan Rilee tragically tripped over his own leg. The incident caused him to fall directly into another student, resulting in a situation that was “just overall pretty embarrassing for everyone involved.”
The collision took place in the morning during the class change between first and second block. Witnesses report that Rilee quickly fled the scene with only a muttered apology to Grace Tiplock, whom he accidentally fell into.
Tiplock later stated that Rilee likely meant no ill-will, as Tiplock herself was in a hurry to get to second block and was not being as careful as she felt that she should have been. This statement has been contradicted by eyewitness accounts, who claim that Rilee had “a very mean look” about him.
“It was like he did it on purpose,” said one witness. “I don’t know why he would, but that was the impression I got. You’d have gotten it too if you were there. There was fire in his eyes.” The witness shuddered after making this comment and promptly asked to remain anonymous.
Rilee, who has had over a decade of experience walking, has nevertheless been widely known by friends and peers as somewhat clumsy, lending credence to the legitimacy of his accidental fall. Even still, this moment seems to mark a “new low,” even for him.
“I’ve never been the best at keeping my balance,” said Rilee, “but I really thought I was better than this.”
“I really thought Jonathan was better than this,” said Kaitlin Moore, who was in a relationship with Rilee at the time of the incident.
