Moon now has yet another new addition to their bustling food/drink industry! Chick-Fil-A meets Starbucks at the new 7 Brew drive-thru.
7 Brew just recently opened on Dec. 1 and is already a smashing success. With its bright blue LED sign, it’s hard to miss. While it may look small on the outside, they have one of the most extensive menus I’ve ever seen.
There are probably over 100 drinks you can order, ranging from piping hot coffee to cold milkshakes. What’s fun about this place is that they have a not-so-secret menu that they advertise at the bottom of their regular menu. Unfortunately, they don’t feature it online, so you have to either find alternate websites that spoil it or ask the server so they can show you their Ipad with the options. Since the list is so long, and you’re in a drive-thru with people behind you, you may not have time to fully explore the menu. I definitely felt the pressure and honestly picked the first drink I saw. It was a good choice on my part, though.
I ordered the Frosted Sugar Cookie Freeze, which is essentially a frozen coffee with a slushy-like texture. While it didn’t taste like a sugar cookie, the drink itself was still pretty tasty. There seemed to be a hint of mocha that mixed really well with the sweet sugar cookie syrup. It was a bittersweet symphony (get the reference?) of flavors that, surprisingly, went well together. A small cost around 5-6 dollars, which is a bit pricey but you get what you pay for. The small was so big that I barely drank half of it.
As for the other drinks I tried, my mom ordered the hot Blondie Latte, and my dad got a sugar free Cinnamon Roll Freeze. Honestly, I gagged when I tried the Blondie Latte. I don’t know if this was intentional, but it tasted like nut-infused hot water. There was a bit of thickness from the cream but not enough to add any flavor. My mom wasn’t a fan of the drink, either.
As for the Cinnamon Roll Freeze, I can’t say that I was any more impressed. Maybe it was due to the fact that it was sugar free, but once again, the drink tasted like frozen cinnamon water. The flavors didn’t mix and created an artificial taste. It was better than the Blondie Latte, but it still was subpar.
Overall, I’d have to give 7 Brew a 5.5/10. While my drink was decent, there are too many options, and there seems to be a value of quantity over quality. I may go back to try the other drinks, but I’m in no hurry.
