This week on Lights, Camera, Action, we are covering some photos I took that could have turned out better if I had a hood lens or if the lightning had been better. Most of these photos have a yellow tint to them. I wasn’t thrilled about how these came out due to lighting. Editing the yellow tint out is a lot of work, and sometimes it just can’t be done. I’m now considering investing in a lens hood, which would reduce the effects of lighting on the end result of the photo.

I took this at my neighbor’s daughter’s first birthday party! I wish that the color of the photo would have come out more clearly, or even the tint was easier to remove. The picture also turned out with a blur, which was disappointing.

This second photo was taken for Lincoln Park’s Fall Ball. As before, I’ve talked about how the time of the day really does change the appearance of the photo because of where the sun is located. The sun was behind my subject in this photo, hence the reason there is such a glare. If I had the hood lens, it could have reduced or even eliminated the glare completely. I also had taken a photo with the sun in front of him, rather than behind him. This resulted in it coming out with a lot less of a glare.

For my last photo, I’m using one that I was able to edit to reduce the glare. As you can see, the sun was behind her rather than facing her. I like to use this one as an example especially because of this. If you look to the left of her leg, you can see exactly where the sun reflects off of the camera lens. I do like how the sun hits the trees in the background.
Thank you for joining me this week on Lights, Camera, Action! Next week will be another edition about nature, as I have been doing more with it!
