When going to a concert, most of the time people will be able to tell who you are going to see just based on the outfit. At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter what you wear to a concert, but people, including me, still like to spend hours picking out an outfit. There are multiple factors that tie into what someone decides to wear to a concert. Here is my concert outfit breakdown on how I decide what to wear to a concert.
MATCH THE ARTIST’S TASTE
One of the things I try to do is match the artist’s taste. Depending on what kind of music the artist plays or even what the vibe of the tour is leads me to pick what my outfit will be. If it’s country music and the artist loves wearing cowboy hats and boots, I’ll try to find something similar. Doing this also makes you feel closer to the artist in a way.
BASE OFF OF AN ALBUM/SONG
I haven’t been to many concerts, but I have done this one before. When I went to see Pierce the Veil, I based mine and my mom’s outfits on the song “King for a Day.” It’s a very simple thing to do. Everyone has a favorite song or album, so base your outfit off of that. Whether that’s the music video, color scheme, or the words itself, it’s always fun to see what people come up with.
WEAR MERCH
One thing you can always do is just wear the artist’s merch. I personally don’t do this (even though I have), but that doesn’t mean you can’t. It’s a simple and easy thing that tells people who you are going to see. You can even do what my brother does and pick out a whole outfit just to change into a merch shirt the second we get in the concert arena.
Ultimately, it’s always good to know your surroundings. Check the weather, the venue, and even where you are sitting. You don’t want to be wearing uncomfortable shoes if you know you’ll be standing and jumping around. Again, it never really matters what you end up wearing; this is just what I like to do.
