With Thanksgiving approaching and autumn fully in bloom, I figured that it’s time to address some long standing fall food debates and share some of my hot takes. And I’m warning you, you’re going to be surprised.
Apple Flavored Foods Are Better Than Pumpkin Flavored Foods
“Pumpkin Spice and Everything Nice” people, I’m sorry to disappoint you. Honestly, I hate pumpkin flavored foods. Pumpkin has a weird, mushy consistency and is too sweet, in my opinion. I’d much rather sip on a cold apple cider than a pumpkin spiced latte or eat a slice of apple pie rather than a slice of pumpkin pie. I’ll always enjoy painting pumpkins, but I refuse to eat them because of their artificial taste.
Cold Drinks Are Better Than Warm Drinks
In the fall, it’s often expected of people to order warm drinks due to how cold the weather can become. However, I prefer iced drinks to hot drinks any day of the year. I can be very impatient, so hot drinks can be a major challenge for me. I don’t feel like waiting for my delicious treat to cool off, especially if I’m thirsty. I oftentimes burn my mouth by drinking it too early. Cold apple cider and iced coffee will always win in a battle against their warm counterparts, in my book.
Stuffing is the Superior Side
This is one stance I will never budge on. Stuffing is single-handedly one of the greatest dishes ever created. You can’t have Thanksgiving without stuffing. The soft, spongy bread adorned in various seasons is to die for. However, I only like turkey from a bowl. Some people like it stuffed on the inside of the turkey so it can absorb all of the turkey juice. In my opinion, the turkey is the worst part of a Thanksgiving meal. Keep the stuffing separate from the nasty turkey juice if you truly want to experience the delights of stuffing.
These are my top three fall hot takes, but you best believe that I have more. Comment down below your fall hot takes and any debates you want me to settle on fall food! Until next time, feasters!
