An estimated ten percent of Lincoln Park girls participate in organized sports sponsored by Lincoln park. Our women’s teams play with effort, skill, and determination. But too often, people believe that they don’t get as much recognition as they deserve.
Lady Leopards is a column dedicated to not only highlighting LP girls’ efforts, but also women’s sports around the world along with their accomplishments and how different sports work/their rules.
On here, you’ll see more than just scores from last week’s games. We have several sports at Lincoln Park. Some include volleyball, basketball, tennis, track/cross country, golf, and softball, so there will be plenty to cover throughout this year. I’ll be interviewing a variety of student athletes, asking them to share their experiences, recognizing achievements, and discussing what it takes to be on a team.
My goal for this column is to bring more attention to our school’s women’s sports teams, and, of course, to give you something to read.
Stay tuned for my next column, where I will be covering the recently concluded tennis season and interviewing the girls’ team to see how they feel about this year, overall, and how it feels to see the season come to an end.
Thank you for taking the time to read my column. If you have any questions, suggestions, or stories you’d like to see next, just let me know @[email protected]!
