Happy Emmy’s season to all those who celebrate it. As someone who loves all things celebrity and who has an odd passion for organized and televised celebrations, I am your host for this year’s recap. If you didn’t watch, don’t worry; I’ll give you all of the best moments from this year’s biggest night.
THE BEST
1. Owen Cooper’s Incredible Win.
Owen Cooper, the 15-year-old breakout star from Adolescence, made history as the youngest male actor to EVER win an Emmy. His speech had the exact right mix of gratitude and slightly nervous rambling, the kind only a teenager can pull off. Leaving all of us extremely stunned—and trying to remember what we were doing at 15 (it probably wasn’t winning an Emmy).
2. Gilmore Girls Reunion.
This was the moment I was waiting for: Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel reuniting on stage, Stars Hollow porch set and all. They presented with immense wit and charm about the importance of snow episodes, autumnal dominance, and how to ball out on a budget. For five minutes, all of Twitter was still.
3. Stephen Colbert Receiving His Flowers.
The Late Show with Stephen Colbert (FINALLY) picked up a win for Outstanding Talk Series, one that felt especially poignant with the show’s looming ending in 2026. Colbert balanced heartfelt thanks with perfectly timed jokes, proving why he’s been a late-night staple for years. The standing ovation was long, loud, and well-earned.
4. Severance’s Outies Triumphed.
Severance turned nominations into landmark wins. Britt Lower triumphed, winning Best Lead Actress in a Drama for her dizzying dual role as Helly R. and Helly Eagan. While Tramell Tillman, who plays Seth Milcheck, became the first Black man to win Supporting Actor in a Drama Series. Their victories were a reminder that the strange, unsettling series isn’t just bending minds—it’s reshaping Emmy history, too.
The 77th Primetime Emmy awards were an amazing reminder and celebration of the artistic excellence of our favorite TV shows. Let me know in the comments your thoughts about the Emmy’s this year!
