Hey, my name is Shavaih Sewell. “Star-Studded,” the column I will be writing is focused on movie reviews.
We all have times where we go to the movies and the movie gets so boring that we fall asleep. So to stop that from happening, I’ve come up with something called the Sleep Scale. In other words, is the movie good enough to keep us awake or is it bad to the point where we are out? The Sleep Scale goes from 1 to 10: a 10 means I stayed awake for the entire movie, and a 1 means I fell asleep right after the opening credits.
A couple of recent movies that I found interesting to watch are the live action Lilo & Stitch, Superman, Smurfs, Zombie 4 and Bad Guys 2. While these are movies I recommend, the ones I would stay away from are the new Dora, Secrets to Kill For, Elio, and Snow White. I’m not bashing anyone who actually likes these, but to me they are boring and are rip offs of other movies, and they shouldn’t have been made.
My personal favorite genre is horror because I enjoy the thrill aspect of it. One of the best horror movies I’ve ever watched has to be the 1980 film The Shining. It’s a film where you don’t know what is about to happen next, and it kept me on the edge of my seat.

On that note, I also really love romance and watching teen dramas. Horror is great, but teen drama just keeps you more interested. The drama aspect always gets me.
The most recent movie I have watched is the new Megan 2.0, and I plan on watching the new Conjuring. I encourage you all to watch it, too, but make sure you’re all caught up on the first three before you do. Meanwhile my review will be out soon–so stay tuned!
