Twenty years after the release of House of 1000 Corpses, Rob Zombie supplies fans with never-before-seen photos, sketches, rare artwork, and more in his book House of 1000 Corpses: The Making of a Cult Classic. The book is set to release on Sept. 16, 2025, and it can be pre-ordered on Amazon, Insight Editions, and Simon & Schuster.
Previous books written/co-written by Rob Zombie have received fairly positive reviews. The Lords of Salem and Z is for Zombie are great examples. In fact, Z is for Zombie is a best-seller on Amazon. I think it’s reasonable to be excited over another piece of media being added to his bibliography.
Before I get into the book, I highly recommend watching House of 1000 Corpses if you haven’t seen it. Better yet, watch the entire Firefly Trilogy. I’ve written a column about the three movies before, so check it out if you want more details. Although, fair warning, it’s quite simple to avoid spoilers.
Rob Zombie was inspired by the 20th anniversary of the film back in 2023 because he realized how much leftover material he could put together. The fanbase for House of 1000 Corpses holds strong, and, in my opinion, the film will always be iconic.
The book is anticipated to be over 300 pages long. It will include a full script accompanied by Rob Zombie’s hand-written notes. The writing isn’t the only development that the book will showcase; there will also be a collection of rare artwork and sketches that shaped the film. Fans will be able to see how everything came to life through Rob Zombie’s unique perspective.
A great place to find more information is Rob Zombie’s Instagram @robzombieofficial. He’s already posted a sneak preview of the book! People magazine also did an exclusive first look into the book.
