Happy 2025 everyone! 2024 has been a pop culture year for the books! Filled with incredible music, film, art, and a healthy dash of drama!
To celebrate the whirland 2024 has been, let’s go down memory lane together and revisit the best parts of it.
Best Social Outing: Look Alike contests. 2024 has seen the uprising in look-alike contests. From Ethan Slater, to Timothee Chalamet, or my personal favorite, Glen Powell, hundreds of look-alikes have come from all over the states to compete for coveted prizes.
Best 15 Minutes of Fame: Hailey Welch. I don’t think anyone has ever milked a 10 second clip as well as she has. Her team must literally be off the chain. From saying “Hawk Tuah” one time on the street, to literally having a podcast, halloween costumes, and merc–you can’t help but respect the grind. But, definitely leaving her in 2024.
Best Tiktok Personality: The Cosco Guys (ft. The Rizzler). I unironically vibe with these guys, and I think they’re hilarious. Them making it to Jimmy Fallon? Golden. Double Chunk Chocolate Cookies? Incredible. Three booms for that. Boom! Boom! Boom!
THE Movie of the Year: Wicked. I take no comments, no arguments, no back talk about this either. Wicked movie’d like no other movie has movie’d before. That’s her line!
Best On-Screen Chemistry: Challengers. Zendaya put her ALL into this performance. I hope that love triangles make it into 2025, because I didn’t know how much we needed them!
Best Off-Screen Chemistry: Benny Blanco and Selena Gomez. She’s in her Marquise Diamonds! How could I put them anywhere but here?
THE TV Show of the Year: Squid Game 2. Did it just come out? Yes. But did it also literally change lives? Yes! I still count this as 2024, you round down not up!
Best It Girl: Charli XCX. You probably thought Sabrina Carpenter was going to go here, but 2024 was a BRAT summer, and to me, just a BRAT year in general. I’m still bumpin that.
Best Breakout Artist: Chappell Roan & Doechii. We as a collective community have waited TOO long to give my girl Doechii her flowers. Alligator Bites Never Heal changed lives! And Chappell Roan has had, arguably, the biggest year in pop we’ve seen in such a long time.
Weirdest Celebrity Obsession: Cougars. No, I haven’t seen Babygirl, but if I see another Tiktok with the song, “Father Figure” by George Micheal, I may have to delete the app.
