Sometimes everyone needs a snack for themselves. Whether from the store or a vending machine when you have a dollar bill on you, that’s what you strive for. Snack Attack, a new age animation, is full of bright colors and a public setting. It starts off with an elderly woman wanting a snack, but there’s only one left. The problem, though, is that the snack is unwilling to come down. The old lady is portrayed as adorable and happy when retrieving her snack. To any age group and person, including myself, I feel like this is highly relatable for what it’s worth.
A sense of hunger and a dollar down the drain takes over us at times like this. The introduction of the elderly and a rude teenage boy enters the picture, allowing us to see the boy’s character. The elderly woman displays hunger and strong opinions, and refusal of defeat. The boy is young and seems to not have a care in the world. But in reality, it wasn’t him who was so mean and selfish but rather giving and patient. Sometimes people are so giving, even when most people wouldn’t be.
By the end of the film, I was left surprised and also slightly angered towards the old woman. She had displayed such rudeness without knowing it truly wasn’t her fault. But when she did realize it was her fault, she recognized the boy for who he truly was. Even if that meant, off screen, we didn’t see how the boy truly felt. Or if his spirits dimmed, which seemingly they did not. But one can imagine how he felt.
