What’s up girly-pops
Today, I’m gonna give an honest review of Dress to Impress, the Roblox game that has a chokehold on its players.
And, for the first time in Gaming the System history, I’m going to be having some guests with me! We’ll get back to that later.
Dress To Impress is a game where you put together a myriad of outfits based on whatever theme is selected. Your character walks down a runway, showing off the outfit that you created to the other players, who then give you a rating of one through five stars before moving on to the next person. Based on that rating, you get placed on the leaderboard, with those who receive the highest rating being placed on the podium.
The experience was first released on October 17, 2023, and got popular almost instantly. With giant creators like CaseOh making plenty of videos on it, the game has certainly reached the status of famous.
But the question is…does it deserve it?
Junior media major Sydney Able seems to think that it does. Able says that “the game is constantly evolving and coming out with new updates, making it so that the game doesn’t become boring. It also is thought out and developed well.”
I’m inclined to agree. Dress to Impress has gorgeous graphics (that my laptop can hardly handle) and other pretty elements that are enticing to look at. I haven’t come across any glitches or hackers in the game, which is rare with most popular games on Roblox, nowadays. If you aren’t falling through a random hole on the floor, then you’re watching helplessly as a hacker flies around your lobby, causing as much havoc as they can.
There’s no question that the game is flawed. Everything is, after all.
If people are playing with friends, then you can be sure that they’re all going to give each other five stars, even if they don’t deserve it. People can join last second, not having a single thing on other than what you spawn with, and still be voted number one just for funsies.
Now, I’m all for a good laugh, but I’m also very competitive. People getting rated high when their outfits are trash is, at the very least, so annoying.
Sydney seems to agree. She says, “It can get a little annoying when people farm the servers because then good designs don’t get the attention that they deserve.”
I’ve seen this happen many, many times. Almost every time I play, I join at least one server where people with designs that can’t possibly have been voted up naturally are filling the podium. It’s such an infuriating experience, but that’s just how things happen sometimes. Nothing can be done other than leaving the server and joining a new one.
Another interesting thing that I’ve only recently learned about is the addition of lore to the game. At first it seemed to be added as a joke, but the longer that it’s gone on, the more serious it’s gotten. In fact, Game Theory has even done a video on it! Granted, it’s a bit dated now but still absolutely worth watching.
All in all, I give the game a solid 8/10. Definitely worth checking out as it’s free to play and pretty entertaining.
Thanks for logging on, but now I gotta log off. See ya!
