A NEW GAMER’S GUIDE TO GAMING

GAMING

Are you new to gaming and have absolutely no idea what to play? You’ve come to the right place my friend. I’ll guide you through everything.

If you’re looking for something relaxing, I suggest playing Minecraft or Stardew Valley. They’re perfect if you’re trying to relax and take some time having fun.

Minecraft is the classic block game that pretty much everyone knows and loves. You get to go around mining trees and building your house. Honestly, the sky’s the limit with what you want to do. Do you want to make a giant tower that holds a bunch of different monsters? Go ahead! Do you wanna make your dream home with a little doghouse attached? Be my guest!

Honestly, you can make whatever you want. I’ve made some… questionable things that may or may not include a secret lair where I brew all my potions and craft my weapons, but that’s beside the point. There are plenty of different animals that you can find, ranging from frogs to parrots. There’s also plenty of hostile mobs for you to fight. Overall, Minecraft is a classic, fun game to play.

Stardew Valley is a game about farming and living in a small town. You can run around and gather wood and stone, or you could go to the mines and fight monsters. With these materials you can go to Robin, the town’s carpenter, and have her build things like storage shacks and chicken coops. You can even go around and romance some of the characters! There are 12 different romanceable characters, each with their own quirks and stories to tell. Not to mention that there are various different events that go on through the different seasons

Another game that I love is called Coffee Talk. It’s a point and click game where you talk to different characters and make them coffee. It’s a relatively simple game, but a fun one, nonetheless. You, the barista/owner of a coffee shop that’s only open at night, talk to various different characters ranging from an aspiring author to an alien trying to reproduce to save his species. Oh, right, I forgot to mention that in this world there are mythical creatures like werewolves and vampires.

Each race has its own stigmas and biases, some of which you learn as you play through the game. For example, a couple that comes in, the man is an elf, and the woman is a succubus. Elves have a particular disdain for succubi, but the elf in this story doesn’t care. He’s willing to forsake his family, therefore giving up his immortality and good health, just to be with her.
The drama in every situation is beautiful, and your choices affect how the story ends. Not to mention that as you play, you get to experiment with making different kinds of drinks and serving them to your customers.

Anyway, that’s everything for today. Thanks for logging in, folks, but now I’ve gotta log out.

Keep an eye out for my next upload, where I’ll dive into several different first-person shooter games.
