SPORTS WITH FLORENCE

With only about four and five total games left between the final two ongoing sports, fall is finally coming to a close and winter is underway. Some of the sports seasons this year have ended in less-than satisfactory fashion; however, as time goes on, our teams are getting better and improving each year. As of now (Oct. 16) there are two games left for our girls’ volleyball team, with New Castle on the 18, and Mars on the 20. They are 4-13 and will be missing the playoffs.
The boys’ football team has 2 regular season games left and then however far they make their run in the playoffs. As of now, they are 7-1 and play Mohawk at home on the 22 for their senior night. Last week, they beat New Brighton by a score of 60-13 and the week before that they won against Riverside at 49-21.
If you are a student at Lincoln Park and are planning to play a winter sport, make sure to get your physical to Ms. Harvey. Even if you just played a fall sport, this is still required by the school. Good luck to all who are participating in sports this winter!
