SAVING THE YOUNG FROM LOOKING OLD
COSMETIC CREATIVITY
February 11, 2022
As much as I want to advocate the embrace of Cosmetics, people should be well aware of the risk they are taking putting chemicals on your face.
I’m not saying that you need to forgo makeup, but just hearing all the facts first will help consumers make the right decision.
According to the Aesthetic Society, the newspaper reported an incident in South Korea. A girl was so obsessed with the idea of waking up with full glam that she never washed her face. Later in the article, readers find out that the damage (of the skin) had aged her skin two times more than normal.
Of course, this was an extreme example; however, it does keep an awareness of how we must manage our skin. That being said, to avoid smaller issues like acne, enlarged pores, and effects of that nature, is to clean your face at night. I am here to give you in depth tips. Number one: SUNSCREEN!
For those of you that kept up with my health column from last year, probably recall my story about the importance of sunscreen. (Specifically, Korean sunscreen.) With that, I want to give a reminder that you should be using this in the mornings, even if it is a cloudy day. In this case, the weather patterns don’t matter your skin is still being exposed to harmful UV rays etc each day.
Makeup is not an acne hider either, we are told this from a very young age. Now, it’s time to unlearn that. If anything, it increases skin irritation, and cause blemishes as well. So, just buy some aloe and use twice a day, before applying cosmetic products. Give yourself an extra layer of protection. This also can fix noticeable pores too!
Investing in a brush cleaner will keep to safe. Being consistent with the once-a-month cleanse through the bristles will give a slim chance of getting something like a sty or product build up.
If you have oily skin, don’t use serums, that tends to leave skin with a glossy look, (not in a highlighting way) or if you have dry skin, don’t skip the moisturizing to routine. Make it a priority to learn your skin type!
