AESTHETICS: WHICH ONE IS MY FAVORITE?
FASION TIPS WITH MEG
January 15, 2021
Welcome back! 2020 was a rough year for all of us and I hope 2021 brings nothin but happiness, love, and peace. I’m so excited to be back with some new content and some new fashion advice for you! Today, I’m going to talk about aesthetics and how I feel about them. Now, I personally don’t have an aesthetic when it comes to fashion. I normally just like what I like and wear what makes me feel confident. I like to embrace every aesthetic and show appreciation to the styles of them. Please be aware though that some aesthetics are based on different cultures. So before you decide to wear an aesthetic, make sure you do your research on it first!
Dark Academia
I love the Dark Academia aesthetic. It’s a very artsy aesthetic and it’s what I like to call a very “soft” one too. Most of my outfit inspirations do stem from this. It has a lot of plaid, sweaters, and blazers. I like to call it the “book worm” aesthetic because in a nutshell, that’s what it is.
Soft Girl/Boy
This aesthetic has become very popular due to platforms like TikTok and Instagram. The soft girl aesthetic is very cute and pink. It gives you very sweet vibes. This aesthetic has some cute perks to it, but it isn’t my favorite. The aesthetic has lots hearts, pink clothes, and soft makeup. I love the color pink and other light colors, but the soft girl aesthetic got ruined for me when TikTok took it over.
Tomboy
We all went through a Tomboy phase when we were growing up – don’t lie about it. I love this aesthetic because it has such nostalgic feel to it. Think Sam Puckett from iCarly. The aesthetic has a lot of perks to it like the hightop sneakers, jeans, and flannels. It’s very relaxed and breaks the stigma that girls have to be girly. They can be tough and strong like anyone else.
That’s all I have for you guys! I love talking about different aesthetics and I hope this gave you some background and how I feel about each aesthetic. Stay Fabulous and see you on the next Fashion Tips With Meg.
